Online Medical Records

Recently at church, I heard that everything from Dental plans to Angioplasty results will be made into a data base or something online that people, preferably medical providers, will be able to access. There has always been many issues to keeping medical records. Through the years these records have been kept on paper, microfilm, electronically in office. Now there has been talk about a national electronic record keeping system. Sound like a good idea until you introduce the concept of hackers and viruses. What if the big computer system crashes and all the records disappear??? Oh, that would be bad news for everyone.
